Workshop Expectations

Workshop is a time when writers do the work of reading writing -- we focus on a lesson, a time for reading and writing, conferring with teacher, and a time for sharing. This format provides you, the student, with the best possible experience to let the voracious reader and hidden writer within pop out. When you read, the images explode in your mind. When you write, you put wonderful words onto your paper. When we conference, you obtain personal help from your teacher.

Following the expectations below will ensure that we all succeed at becoming great readers and writers.

How do you know you are meeting your reading goals?  Check out this Reading: Making Meaning Rubric Use this to help set your goals.

How do you know if you are accomplishing our writing goals?  Check out this Writing Process Evaluation and check your work.  Use this to set your goals each week also.

Our goals are to learn the Common Core State Standards
